With our guide you will learn the history and legends of the powerful Medici family who ruled Florence for centuries, starting with the most important statues and buildings in the city.
The route takes place entirely on foot , starting from Piazza Signoria , following the Path of the Principe , towards the Palazzo degli Uffizi , walking on Ponte Vecchio to reach the residence of Palazzo Pitti . The tour also includes a guided tour to discover the famous Boboli Gardens , richly decorated with fountains, water features, caves and labyrinths.

One of the most important dynasty in Italian history, the Medici family ruled Florence for more than three centuries, holding a position of importance in the politics and economy of the city since the 13th century. Skilled merchants and exceptional bankers, they managed to forge strong ties with the Church and with the most illustrious rulers of Europe. The Medici were also great patrons and fine connoisseurs; just think that within just a few decades from the beginning of their rule, they made Florence the European capital of Culture and Science .
The tour begins with a visit to the Basilica of San Lorenzo , an ancient Florentine Cathedral rebuilt by Brunelleschi under the patronage of Cosimo the Elder. On the way to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore , there will be a stop to admire Palazzo Medici Riccardi . From the Uffizi Palace, now home to the famous gallery, crossing the Arno river on Ponte Vecchio, up to the great palace of Palazzo
Pitti and its famous park, the Boboli Gardens .

Private Guided Visit to the most famous Basilicas of Florence
The guided tour includes Piazza Santa Croce and the Basilica of the same name, which houses the funerary monuments of Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei, Rossini Machiavelli, Alfieri and other great ones (it is also possible to visit the inside of the church). The tour continues towards Piazza del Duomo and the Santa Maria del Fiore Complex: Cathedral, Giotto’s Bell Tower and the Baptistery. Also on request we can include the entrance to the baptistery, ascent to the bell tower, ascent to the Dome (availability permitting). You can plan to integrate an hour of visit and continue the walk and finish in Piazza Santa Maria Novella.
The church of Santa Maria Novella is one of the most important churches in the Gothic style inside which there are masterpieces including the Trinity by Masaccio, the frescoes by Ghirlandaio and the Crucifix by Giotto.

The visit of the city starts from Piazza Pitti, the ideal place from which to admire Palazzo Pitti, the largest Medici palace in Florence.
The walk continues across Ponte Vecchio towards the very famous Piazza Signoria, which is defined as the “open-air museum” and houses the ancient Palazzo Vecchio, seat of the Medici government, the Fountain of Neptune and numerous sculptures.
Also in Piazza della Signoria it is possible to admire the splendid Renaissance palace of the Uffizi designed by Giorgio Vasari. The route ends with the arrival in Piazza Duomo and its monuments, the Cathedral and the Baptistery.

The packraft is a small and very fun single-seater inflatable boat, easier and safer than a canoe.
